Beach Patrol Rotas

Patrols run from 1000 to 1600 every Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday from Saturday 5th of May until Sunday 30th of September. Each patrol is split into 2 four hour shifts (1000 to 1300 and 1300 to 1600) and each shift will be led by a designated, experienced NARS holder. Each leader will run a patrol consisting of at least 2 other NARS holders when the paid lifeguards are not on duty, dropping to at least 1 other NARS holder when paid lifeguards are present.

If you train on a Sunday evening........

· You must ensure you come to your designated patrol time. This enables us to guarantee a smoothly run patrol throughout the summer
· If you are unable to come, it is your responsibility to arrange cover
· If you do not provide cover, you will not be able to compete
· To patrol, you must wear a yellow Southerndown SLSC lifeguard polo shirt and red lifeguard shorts if you are a Nars holder. Clean shorts will be provided by the club, you will need to bring black or navy tracksuit bottoms if the weather is bad
· If you don't bring your own t-shirt you will have to wear one of our old, mouldy, minging ones!  They're not pleasant!
· As it is unlikely you will have 16 hours on the rota before the competition entries are sent off, you will need to attend extra patrols,  dates are up to you, but please come at either 1000 or 1300 to make life easier for your session leaders!

If you are currently on the NARS/Lifesaver course on a Sunday evening.......

· You will be placed on the rota, as patrols are an excellent opportunity to put into practice what you are learning as well as learning from the experts!! - you will need a red t shirt from Bec Davies, for an order form please see 'news'

If you train on a Thursday night

· Patrol times for people who train on a Thursday will be from 1300-1600 every Saturday and Sunday
· You will not be placed on a rota although you must also ensure that you complete 16 hours of patrols before the competition entries are sent in order to compete!!  Don't forget to sign in so we can log your hours!
· To patrol you must wear a red Southerndown SLSC patrol polo shirt.  This enables us to know where you are and members of the public to know whom you are!
· If you don't have a patrol shirt, they can be ordered from Bec Davies at any time.
